FAQs

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO HAVE MY DOG GROOMED?

The cost to groom each dog will vary depending on size, coat condition, temperament, and desired cut. Please visit our "Services" page for our packages and starting prices.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY DOG TO BE GROOMED?

The total grooming time will vary my each dog depending on size and clip. Small dogs usually take around 1.5 to 2 hours, and larger dogs 3+ hours.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BRING MY DOG TO BE GROOMED?

We recommend bringing your dog every 4-8 weeks for a full groom. This will vary depending on how much you will maintain the coat between grooms.

IF MY DOG NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET, WILL YOU TAKE THEM?

We do not offer vet drop off services. We will only take your pet to the vet if it is an absolute emergency while your dog is in our care. Please be sure to add your vet name in our registration form so if there is an emergency we can contact them.

Do you have experience with cats and or exotic pets?

We currently only provide services for dogs. However in the future we plan to expand our nail services to cats, and other small animals including birds.

HOW OLD SHOULD MY PUPPY BE FOR THEIR FIRST GROOM?

We believe that it is never too early to start familiarizing your puppy with the grooming process. Check out our desensitized pup package!

DO YOU JUST CLIP NAILS?

Yes. It costs $20 for a nail trim which includes a smooth out with a dermal tool. Please note that it is recommended to have your dogs nails done every 4 weeks. If you dog has long "quicks" it may take a few months for them to recede. This process can include needing to come every two weeks until the quicks are where they need to be to have a healthy nail length.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY DOG'S NAIL CUT?

we suggest cutting your dogs' nails every 4 weeks.

CAN I DROP MY DOG OFF IN THE MORNING AND PICK HIM/HER UP AT THE END OF THE DAY?

We do not have the room for your dogs to be left here and are unable to offer daycare services. If dogs are left for more than 1 hour after their groom is finished, fees will apply. There are two doggy daycares within 15 minutes of Swift Clipps Grooming. We do not coordinate drop offs or pick ups currently, but hope to expand to this services in the future.

CAN I STAY WITH MY DOG WHILE THEY ARE BEING GROOMED?

Due to liability reasons we can not have any non employees in the grooming facility when other dogs are present. It is also recommended to stay out of sight and hearing distance for your dog. Dogs behave much better for the grooming process when their mom and dad are not easily seen or accessible. You are welcome to wait in your car or run arrands during your dogs grooming appointment.

DO YOU HAVE ANY EDUCATION?

I have a Diploma in professional Dog Grooming from JKL Grooming. I completed this course in 14 months which included book study, quizzes, tests, a final examination and a hands on practicum portion in order to graduate. 
In addition to schooling, I have had the pleasure to be guided and trained with a local mentor.

WILL YOU SHAVE MY DOG?

Although we never want to shave someone's dog shorter than their expectations, there are certain circumstances where it is entirely necessary. If a dog is too matted, the only option is to clip under those matts. De-matting can be very painful for a dog, and leave irritated and 'burned' skin. We will only do what each dog can handle in a comfortable manner.

DO YOU OFFER ONE-ON-ONE SERVICES?

We can accommodate your dog for one-on-one services. This means that no other customers or dogs will be in the salon while your dog is here. There is an additional cost to this which is at the discretion of Swift Clipps grooming and depends on the amount of time your dog is here.

HOW CAN I BOOK?

If you would like to book, please check out the policies page which will also show a link to our new client form, which needs to be filled out.

DO YOU CHARGE LATE AND CANCELLATION FEES?

We do not currently charge late fees, however if you are 15 monutes or more late, we do have to cancel your appointment to maintain a strict schedule. We do charge cancellation fees which start at 50% of your services booked and if repeated can go to 100% of services booked.

ARE YOU OPEN ON EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS?

We are sorry to say that at this time we do not have any evening or weekend availability.
